Agreed, you know some of their issues can be resolved going green, but they wont because they'll loose half of a 1% fraction of their yearly gross earnings making the green change, its a win, win situation, but I dont think their that smart.

True, True. this is retarded. Theatres need to stop, although its not really their fault. the damn media is taking all their ticket money, so really, the only way to get some kind of cash is to hike up the prices of consession and tickets.

without this price raise, there would be no theatres, unfortunately.

Sorry but if people knew the slightest amount about economics they'd know if there was a cheaper way to run a movie theater, someone would be doing it.

The movie theater i work at charges $9 for an adult ticket, or $6.50 for senior, children, or matinee (before 6 pm) tickets.

About 95% of that money is going back to whoever made the movie, and on top of that some of the bigger releases actually may charge several thousand dollars just to buy the film reel since we haven't upgraded to digital yet.

All in all that means the concessions prices is paying for wages, utilities, product costs, any rollover from buying film reels, and anything else that costs money for a movie theater.

Though people bitch and moan, no one is making you pay these prices, but yes they are necessary.
