I have a virus

I don’t have a computer virus, but rather a cold. I think I got it on Friday, and I had to call in sick from work today because it’s pretty bad. My throat has gotten worse, and I had a bloody nose twice yesterday, probably because of the nose blowing and the dryness.

I’m frustrated because I can’t do much at the moment. Unfortunately, I need to suck it up and still coach this afternoon. Hopefully this goes away because the inaugural is Sunday. (It’s where the high school, Rio Hondo Prep, inaugurates their president for the upcoming half of the school year.)

Doh, off to meeting. (I have to be there.)

  • The end of my car issues March 4, 2010
About two weeks ago, after my oxygen sensors and spark plugs were replaced, I got my transmission fluid flushed for $130. I’ve definitely noticed an increase in gas mileage. Huzzah! The last problem with my car: the door ajar light. I asked the person who installed my aftermarket car alarm to look at it, but he basically [...]

  • Almost broke my LG Dare March 4, 2010
This morning, I accidentally dropped my LG Dare cell phone from about five feet high. It seemed to work fine. Later that afternoon, I tried to take a photo. “Camera start error.” What?! Fortunately, a search at HowardForums brought me to this thread. Applying pressure around the lens area fixed the problem. (I didn’t hear any snaps [...]

  • Separating photo blog March 2, 2010
A few friends suggested that I separate photography-related posts from All Narfed Up onto their own site. The only way to see my freshest photos are from Flickr. I don’t upload to my Zenfolio account regularly unless a photo is pretty epic or it’s for a customer. I need to change that. All Narfed Up is a [...]

  • 3RVX February 27, 2010
My keyboard has dedicated volume and mute keys. I usually check the system tray to see the level of my master volume since I don’t touch the [physical] volume control on my speakers. Now, 3RVX gives me a slick on screen volume indicator like Macs. Sweet! (Hat tip: Lifehacker)

Brian Auer1 and Tomas Webb2 just launched a photography website dedicated to film: Feeling Negative? They’re both good friends that have inspired my photography in some way and deserve a huge amount of love, support, and new visitors. In other words, get over there! See “Feeling Negative?
