Sweet hard drive deal

I just saw this at the Best Buy website on my own. I quickly drove out to Pasadena and I’m patiently waiting in line. This is a purchase long overdue. So awesome!

Later at home…

Seagate 120GB Internal Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive ST3120026A-RK

So I drove out before I had a chance to eat dinner. I got home, and just finished eating – but it’s past 9:00pm. Guess what I’ll be doing? :)

I just sent this to Irwin, so hopefully he’ll post it up on Passwird Deals.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how I found this deal. I was comparing hard drive prices between PC Club, CompUSA, and Best Buy. I have an older motherboard without RAID support, so I don’t think I could’ve gotten a drive bigger than 120GB without having to get a PCI controller card as well. Calculating the price, $0.50/GB is incredible! (Compare this with the same hard drive at Newegg for $78, $0.65/GB.)

Sunday wackiness

For the most part, my Sundays are anything but ordinary. When the week goes by with purpose and productivity, it’s cool to just mess around on Sunday and not worry about anything. Continue reading ‘Sunday wackiness’

Chinese New Year

Esther (and Kelly) was nice enough to invite me to their Chinese New Years dinner at their house. Andy was there, and he invited Pete and Jordan. I can’t remember if he invited me, but I think Esther told him that she did already. (It doesn’t matter.) It was good stuff, and I even got two red envelopes! Hot pot is so weird, that’s for sure.

To Kelly, Esther, Andy, and Dave – thanks! :)

Andy wrote about it and uploaded some pictures, too.

Update: Pete finally wrote on this, too, and uploaded his pictures as well. He took more than I did.

My favorite sites of the moment

I’m going to list a few of my favorite sites (at this point in time) and why they’re so good to me. They won’t be in any particular order. I know most of you have heard of these, but this is for those that haven’t, because you should really check them out. Continue reading ‘My favorite sites of the moment’

While walking across the street from the Wiltern to the Wilshire/Western subway, this man walked between the cars asking for money. The print is pretty much how I envisioned it. Unfortunately, I’m still trying to get more detail between the man’s head and the trees in the distance. This is probably my 8th print attempt. I’m [...]

Silas and I were supposed to meet up with other photography classmates for long exposure photos from Cow Canyon Saddle by Mt. Baldy Village1. That didn’t happen. Once we got to the turnout on Glendora Ridge Rd, we just saw a sign and a road leading into an RV park. There wasn’t a mention of Cow Canyon [...]

I didn’t ask Bill to pose or smile. I liked his second portrait, but that wasn’t as sharp. Boo me. Reflections of myself and Bill’s dad (upper left) was deliberate. Taken inside his dad’s garage, and hopefully soon to be his recording studio. View on Flickr
